The Carbonation Stone allows you to quickly and accurately carbonate your kegged beer. The 0.5 micron size of the stone diffuses the gas rapidly into the beer lending very fine bubbles.

How do I carbonate using a carbonation stone

  • Using a carbonation stone will cut down the time needed to carbonate the beer to about 1/2 hour.
  • The beer needs to be cold, between 2 and 4 °C.
  • Attach the stone so that it is at or near the bottom of the keg.
  • Start with no pressure on the regulator and increase to 1-2 psi and let sit for about 4-5 minutes. You should hear the bubbles in the keg.
  • Repeat the pressure increase in 1-2 psi increments waiting 4-5 minutes between increases until you are about 14-16 psi.
  • Try a sample glass. If this is the desired carbonation level, you can either remove or leave in the stone and back pressure down to serving psi. If not, keep increasing the psi in 1-2 psi increments till you get your desired level.
  • Carbonate your beer just like the pros with this 0.5 Micron Carbonating Stone with 1/4" Barb. Simply attach one end to a couple of feet of 1/4" tubing to the end of the dip tube inside of the keg, and the other end to the stone. Make sure you attach hose clamps to both connections. Then set your regulator to about 2 psi, and the gas will be forced through the millions of tiny pores in the stone, which dissolves the gas into the liquid.
  • Carbonates your beer overnight.
  • Note: To prevent the pores from getting clogged, we recommends not handling the porous end directly with your fingers.
